THE Judicial and Bar Council is set to open application or recommendation for the position of Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Estela Perlas-Bernabe, who will retire on May 14.
The JBC said interested applicants may access the Online Application Scheduler not later than March 29, 2022.
“They must submit the complete and accurate digitized versions of the letter of intent and the documentary requirements through electronic email on their selected date and time of appointment in the Online Application Scheduler,” the JBC said.
“Applicants shall ensure receipt by the JBC of two complete sets of the hard copies of the documentary requirements, one set of original or certified true copies and one set of photocopies, through courier or the JBC drop box from March 30, 2022 until April 6, 2022,” it added.
The JBC is the body tasked by the Constitution to screen and vet nominees and applicants to the judiciary.
It is headed by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo in an ex oficio capacity.
Bernabe was appointed to the SC by former President Benigno “Ninoy’ Aquino III on Sept. 6, 2011. She has been the senior associate justice of the SC since October 26, 2019.
