Iza Calzado was a picture of bliss as she talked about Deia Amihan, her and husband Ben Wintle’s nine month old bundle of joy during the recent press con of “Shake, Rattle & Roll: Extreme” at Regal in Valencia, Quezon City.
The sweet Deia delighted everyone with her baby Darna costume for Halloween – spreading good vibes on social media when her parents posted her adorable snaps.
Iza admitted it is a different kind of happiness when she hears people saying beautiful things about her daughter.
“Pag sinabi mo maganda anak ko ngayon, mas natutuwa ako. Stage mother na lang po ako ngayon. Kris Jenner, mommy-ger. I’m just a mommy-ger now,” she joked.
Deia takes after her parents’ happy nature. Iza also said it’s important too to think of the countenance of the people who care for your children because there is also a possibility the child will imbibe the carer’s personality.
But her happy nature is not only the only thing Deia got from her momma. Aside from inheriting the good looks of Daddy Ben and Mommy Iza, Deia is exhibiting a natural love for the camera.
During a recent visit to the DFA for her passport, the little miss was smiling to everyone and was super at home in front of the passport taker – charming everyone with her lovely laugh.
Clearly, she is the daughter of a movie star.
“Plastic ko kung sasbaihin ko hindi ko nakikita sa kanya ang traits ng sang artista because clearly, when she wore that costume, she was loving it,” said Iza.
The new mom is returning to the big screen in the thrilling episode “Glitch” from director Richard Somes of the horror trilogy “Shake, Rattle & Roll: Extreme.” Iza said the reason she said yes to the project is because it afforded her the chance to work in a project she loves – Iza has appeared in a previous “Shake” film – and still have time to devote on her family.
“Unang-una sa lahat, siyempre, ‘Shake, Rattle & Roll’ siya. Malaking content ‘yun,” said Iza, “It is a strong franchise.”
“Glitch” was also her chance to work with the talented director Somes and screenplay writer Noreen Capili. A big factor was also because the actress only had to shoot for 6 days.
“‘Yung six days ka lang na kailangan, tinitimbang ko talaga ro’n kung ano ang kaya kong gawin ngayon na nanay na ako,” she said, “Hindi mahirap um-oo sa six days.”
Aside from “Glitch,” the two other episodes are “Mukbang,” directed by Jerrold Tarog and “Rage” by Joey de Guzman.
“Shake, Rattle & Roll: Extreme” is showing in theaters nationwide starting November 29.
