LESS than 500 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were reported by the Department of Health (DOH) for the third straight day but 184 more succumbed to the deadly virus.
In its latest bulletin yesterday, the DOH said total infections in the country rose to 2,836,592 counting the 402 new cases while the death toll climbed to 50,280 for a case fatality rate of 1.77.
The positivity rate in the country stood at 1.2 percent out of the 36,799 tests conducted last December 10.
There were 11,255 active cases, with 4,334 mild cases, 3,683 moderate cases, 1,961 severe cases, 876 asymptomatic cases, and 401 critical cases. Active cases account for 0.4 percent of COVID cases in the country.
The DOH also reported 509 more recoveries, raising the number of survivors to 2,775,057.
This means that 97.8 percent of COVID patients in the country have recovered.
