FORMER First Lady Imelda Marcos has been hospitalized for suspected pneumonia, daughter and presidential sister Sen. Imee Marcos said yesterday.
President Marcos Jr., who is in Australia, said he has spoken to his mother’s physicians.
“She is suffering from slight pneumonia and is running a fever. She has been put on a course of antibiotics and the doctors are confident that this will relieve her fever.”
She is in good spirits, has no difficulty in breathing and is resting well. I thank the Filipino public for their concern and prayers,” he added.
Sen. Marcos, in a message earlier yesterday to media, said the family decide to have their 94-year-old mother confined in a hospital “to take maximum precautions.”
“Suspected pneumonia as she has been having fever and cough on and off. Given her age, we have to take maximum precautions,” she said. — Raymond Africa
