Ilocos Region wage board grants pay hike for minimum wage earners, domestic workers

THE Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) – I yesterday announced the granting of salary hikes for domestic and private sector workers in the Ilocos Region.

In a statement released by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the Ilocos Region wage board granted a P33 daily minimum wage increase across all sectors in Region I.

“This brings the daily minimum wages to P468 for the non-agriculture sector employing 10 or more employees, and P435 for the non-agriculture sector employing less than 10 employees and the agriculture sector,” said the Ilocos Region wage board.

The RTWPB-I said the wage order is expected to directly benefit 170,143 minimum wage earners in the region.

On the other hand, the Ilocos Region wage board granted a P500 increase in the monthly minimum wage of kasambahays in Region I.

“The monthly wage rate of domestic workers in the region will now be P6,000,” said the RTWPB-I.

The wage hike is expected to benefit a total of 99,024 domestic workers in Region I.

According to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), the wage orders will be published on October 22, 2024.

This means that both wage orders shall take effect on November 07, 2024.

The last wage orders for workers in private establishments and domestic workers in the Ilocos Region both took effect on November 06, 2023.
