OPERATIVES of the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) arrested yesterday a PNP Highway Patrol Group policeman for robbery-extortion in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.
In a report to PNP chief Guillermo Eleazar, IMEG Director Brig. Gen. Thomas Frias Jr. identified the cop as S/Sgt Ronelo Tering-tering, assigned with the HPG’s Provincial Highway Patrol Team.
Frias said Tering-tering was nabbed shortly after he received marked money from a complainant during an entrapment operation conducted by operatives of IMEG, Provincial Mobile Force Company and Cabadbaran City Police Station.
Last May 20, Tering-tering apprehended and impounded the complainant’s mini dump truck at the PHPT office for an undisclosed violation, according to IMEG spokesman Maj. Mae Ann Cunanan.
Tering-tering later demanded P10,000 for the release of the dump truck.
