THE city government of Parañaque has eased the hard granular lockdown in a portion of Better Living Subdivision in Barangay Don Bosco a week after it was imposed to stop the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the community.
Mayo Edwin Olivarez said motorists can now use the subdivision’s second and third gates along Russia Street and Annex 41 when going in and out of the community. Gate one, he said, will be exclusively used for deliveries.
Residents who are included in the Authorized Persons Outside of Residences IAPOR) list are now allowed to go out, while sari-sari stores and canteens are also allowed to offer delivery and take-out services.
Annex 35 of Better Living Subdivision was put on 14-day granular lockdown on August 25 after 53 residents tested positive for COVID-19. The patients have been brought to the city’s quarantine facilities.
Parañaque City public information officer Mar Jimenez said residents of the subdivision were tested yesterday.
Meanwhile in Antipolo City, a compound and a nine-unit apartment building in Samba Homes in Barangay Luis were placed under granular lockdown yesterday.
Several houses in Forest Hills in Barangay Inarawan were also locked down for 14 days starting midnight yesterday. — With Christian Oineza
