A Grade 9 student in Taguig City was arrested for illegal drugs last Monday evening, police said yesterday.
Reports reaching the Southern Police District said the 17-year-old junior high school student was nabbed by operatives of the Taguig police in Barangay Ususan, Taguig City, at about 9:45 p.m.
“Arrested suspect alias Bryan, 17 years old, student and tagged as High-Value Individual was caught in possession and control of suspected illegal drugs and confiscation of one knot-tied transparent plastic sachet weighing 80 grams with a street value of P544,000, ” the police report said.
His companion identified only as alias Alvin managed to escape but not after police operatives recovered from him a plastic sachet containing suspected illegal drugs weighing 25 grams with an estimated street value of P170,000.
“Alias Alvin escaped after resisting and pushing the arresting officer,” the report said, adding that a follow-up operation for him is being conducted.
The seized illegal drugs were brought to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis while alias Bryan was turned over to the local office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Taguig City.
A complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being prepared against him.
