GMA Network has promoted Joy Romina Marcelo from vice president to first vice president of Sparkle GMA Artist Center and Talent Development & Management. This promotion recognizes her leadership and successful initiatives that have advanced Sparkle’s presence both locally and internationally.
Marcelo has been instrumental in the success of the Sparkle Tour, a series of back-to-back concerts held across the USA and Canada and soon in Japan. She also played a key role in the “Signed for Stardom 2024” event, featuring nearly 50 stars, and the GMA Gala 2024, which set records for revenue and online viewership.
Under her leadership, GMA achieved its biggest on-ground contract signing for the “Signed for Stardom 2024” event. Furthermore, she played a pivotal role in leading the execution of the GMA Gala 2024, which set new records with unprecedented revenue generation through sponsorships and garnered over 1 billion online views and reach, solidifying its status as the year’s most-watched and talked-about event.
Marcelo also spearheaded the first-ever Sparkle TikTok Series and she oversaw the successful launches of the highly anticipated Sparkle Kilig Series Stars, Sparkle 10, and Boys of Summer projects, all of which have been met with enthusiasm from fans and industry insiders alike.
Marcelo also led the recruitment of international stars Kim Ji Soo and Nancy McDonie, whose addition to the Sparkle lineup has brought a new level of excitement and international attention to GMA’s talent pool.
“Joy Marcelo’s promotion to First Vice President is a well-deserved recognition of her unwavering dedication and outstanding contributions to GMA Network. Her visionary approach and ability to execute high-impact projects have not only elevated our brand but also set new industry benchmarks,” said Atty.
