Sen. Jinggoy Estrada has proposed that poor job applicants be granted a 20 percent discount on payment of fees and charges for certain government-issued pre-employment documents.

Estrada has filed Senate Bill No. 47 which seeks to give indigent job seekers a 20 percent slash on pre-employment documents, including clearances issued by the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine National Police, certificates of marriage and live birth from the Philippine Statistics Authority, transcript of records and authenticated copies of diploma from state universities and colleges, and medical certificate for local employment from any government hospital licensed by the Department of Health.

Also included in the list of requirements were certificate of civil service eligibility from the Civil Service Commission, certificate of competency issued by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and other documentary requirements issued by the government.

The proposed measure will benefit those identified and certified by the PSA as living below the official poverty threshold based on the criteria set in the Community-Based Monitoring System, and members of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

The discount can be availed of once every six months.
