THE girlfriend of a recently-murdered female car rental driver and her relative were abducted by still unidentified suspects in Bay town, Laguna on Wednesday.
Laguna provincial police spokeswoman Lt. Col. Chitadel Gaoiran identified the victims as Meyah Amatorio and Adrian Ramos.
Citing initial reports, Gaoiran said Amatorio and Ramos were snatched by at least 10 armed men wearing masks at around 12:20 p.m. from the victims’ compound in Barangay Calo.
“It was reported by relatives of Meyah that around 10 armed men were behind the abduction, their faces were covered,” Gaoiran said, adding an investigation is ongoing to establish the motive for the abduction and the identities of the suspects.
Gaoiran said they are not discounting the possibility that the abduction was related to the murder of car rental driver Jang Lucero in Laguna on June 28.
Lucero was found dead with 52 stab wounds inside her car in Barangay Maunong in Calamba City, Laguna. A suspect, Ann Sheila Belarmino, was arrested on July 3 but was later released due to lack of evidence.
The family of Lucero has asked the NBI to investigate Amatorio for the death of their kin.
