CABINET Secretary and acting presidential spokesman Karlo Nograles said yesterday said at least 78,000 public utility jeep (PUJ) operators in the country have already benefited from the government’s one-time P7,200 fuel subsidy.

Nograles said the government is targeting an estimated 136,000 PUJ operators and drivers as beneficiaries of the fuel subsidy program.

“Maaari ninyo na pong magamit ang halagang P7,200 bilang one-time fuel subsidy.

Maagang aguinaldo po ito ng ating pamahalaan (You can now use the P7,200 one-time fuel subsidy. This is an early Christmas gift from government),” Nograles said in addressing those who have already received their subsidies.

Nograles said representatives of the Department of Transportation, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, Department of Energy, Department of Budget and Management and Landbank of the Philippines led the distribution of the subsidy to PUJ drivers and operators last week.
