Friendship with Willie Revillame remains, says Camille Villar

Even though she now lives a life away from the klieg lights as a wife, mom, and politician, Rep. Camille Villar is still often asked if she would ever return to TV hosting.

Camille is open to the idea, although she acknowledges her limitations. “Hindi lang ako marunong umarte, hindi naman akong marunong kumanta, hindi naman ako marunong sumayaw. So out na ‘yun lahat,” she said with a laugh.

It will be remembered that in 2012, Camille, along with Mariel Padilla, Grace Lee, and Shalani Soledad-Romulo, hosted “Wil Time, Big Time” with Willie Revillame on TV5. This show introduced the then 25-year-old Camille to TV audiences and marked the start of a beautiful friendship with her co-hosts, whom she still keeps in touch with today.

When asked about Willie, she shared insights into their relationship.

“Very good. In the same manner that I have stayed friends with my co-hosts and some of my most cherished people in my life, pinaka, ang pinaka dun is Willie,” she emphasized. “We have a very good relationship. He’s very close to not just me, but to the whole family. So our relationship is very good.”

Willie was among the first artists to join AllTV, the network of the Villar-owned Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. (AMBS). He said goodbye to GMA in 2022 and moved his game show “Wowowin” to AllTV, where it aired for less than six months.

Last month, Willie signed a contract with TV5, marking his return to the Kapatid network.

“As to what happened and stuff like that, I’m not quite sure,” said Camille. “But we’re still good friends and I think there’s still possibilities of working together. Hindi naman parang hindi naman mag work together. He’s still a very, very good friend and we look forward to working together.”

There are only good wishes between the two former co-hosts. “We’re very, very happy for Willie, but you know, he always has a home with us and he’s a very, very good friend,” reiterated Camille. “We’re just very happy about all the things that are going on in his life.”

Just as she keeps close ties with her colleagues, AMBS also maintains a “good relationship with everyone.” Last month, AMBS signed an agreement with ABS-CBN, with “TV Patrol” and Jeepney TV programs airing on AllTV.

Camille is mum about new productions but said AllTV remains open for other collaborations. “Hindi pa namin alam ‘yung mga shows na i-co-produce. Kung ano ‘yung i-announce, ‘yun ‘yung mainit-init pa. Like the local shows, there’s nothing established yet, ‘pag meron ng final, we will announce.”
