In honor of a remarkable half-century in showbiz, GMA is set to air Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.’s golden anniversary special, commemorating his illustrious 50-year journey in the entertainment industry.
The GMA TV special is scheduled to premiere tomorrow, Saturday, October 7, at 8 p.m.
The milestone event, aptly titled “Idol ko si Bong,” saw the attendance of over a thousand guests hailing from the worlds of politics and entertainment, along with family and close friends, all coming together to celebrate the “Titanic Action Star’s” extraordinary career.

In addition to the program itself, the event showcased Revilla’s extensive collection of showbiz memorabilia, offering a glimpse into his five-decade legacy.
Many of Bong’s former leading ladies, co-stars, and showbiz companions graced the occasion with dedicated performances, while his family’s acts added a special touch to the evening.
Expressing his gratitude, Revilla said, “I thank Boss Vic Del Rosario and Direk Carlo J. Caparas for my first starring role; Mother Lily Monteverde, and all producers who believed and bet on me; my directors in the over 100 films I did; GMA 7 especially Sir Felipe Gozon, Sir Jimmy Duavit, Annette Gozon, and Joey Abacan, who all gambled on me when I tried television; all the actors who joined me in bringing joy to TV viewers.”
He also extended his thanks to everyone who played a part in his 50-year journey, including his past leading ladies, production crew, stuntmen, PR handlers, and entertainment writers.
The star-studded affair was attended by luminaries such as Maricel Soriano, Erik Matti, Vic Del Rosario, Marlon Bautista, Roselle Monteverde, William Lao, Mac Alejandre, Annette Gozon-Valdez, Lolit Solis, Jay Santiago, Felipe Gozon, Ronald Asinas, Beauty Gonzales, Sunshine Cruz, Jean Garcia, Ara Mina, Sanya Lopez, Rochelle Pangilinan, Rabiya Mateo, Tirso Cruz III, Christopher de Leon, Gardo Versoza, Roi Vinzon, Niño Muhlach, Betong Sumaya, Long Mejia, Ogie Diaz, Jillian Ward, Robin Padilla, Phillip Salvador, Jinggoy Estrada, Lorna Tolentino, Amy Austria, Isabel Rivas, and Iza Calzado, among many others.
Close friends of Revilla, including Manay Lolit Solis, Sharon Cuneta, Dingdong Dantes, Judy Ann Santos, Aiko Melendez, Regine Velasquez, and Vilma Santos, conveyed their well-wishes virtually to the celebrator.
