“Nakarehas Na Puso,” a story of forgiveness and second chances, unfolds starting September 26 on GMA’s afternoon slot.
“Nakarehas Na Puso” follows the story of a loving and hardworking mother Amelia who will do everything to give her family a good life. Until one day, because of her extreme desire to escape from poverty, she makes the wrong decision to enter an illegal gig as a drug mule. Amelia will be imprisoned which leads to a web of consequences and unfortunate events that her family will suffer from. Doris, the scheming friend of Amelia who has been hiding her feelings for Amelia’s husband Jack, begins her plan to destroy their family.
Headlining the soap is Jean Garcia as Amelia, former beauty queen Michelle Aldana as Doris, and sculptor Leandro Baldemor as Jack.
Jean assures that her character will inspire and be relatable to the audience, “Para siyang nobela na nangyayari talaga sa mga Pilipino lalo na sa kababaihan. Kahit dumanas ng paghihirap si Amelia, matututo siyang lumaban nang tama at hindi sa paraan ng paghihiganti. Magsisikap siya para gumanda ang buhay at mabuo ang kanyang pamilya.”
Michelle admits that she didn’t think twice on accepting this TV show after being away from the limelight for many years, “After kong mabasa ang synopsis, sabi ko ito na talaga ‘yung role na gusto ko kasi very challenging. Hindi pa ako gumaganap bilang kontrabida and this is my first teleserye. It’s an honor na makatrabaho si Jean dahil napakagaling niya at very supportive, marami akong natututunan sa kanya.”
Meanwhile, Leandro feels grateful to the Kapuso Network for always giving him exceptional projects, “Passion ko talaga ang pag-arte kaya maraming salamat sa GMA dahil nag-start akong gumawa ng teleserye noong 2010 pa at hanggang ngayon, binibigyan pa rin nila ako ng magagandang shows.”
“Nakarehas Na Puso” also features the talented Vaness Del Moral as Lea, EA Guzman as Miro, and fast-rising star Claire Castro as Olive. Joining them are Analyn Barro as Charlotte, the fierce partner-in-crime of Miro; Bryce Eusebio as Warren, the happy-go-lucky friend who will soon become the love interest of Nica; Ashley Sarmiento as Nica, the rebellious child of Lea.
The show’s brilliant director, Gil Tejada Jr., commends Jean on her tough and demanding portrayal as Amelia, “After a decade nang huli kaming magkasama, at nakita kong mas nag-mature ang acting niya pati ang pananaw sa trabaho. Puno ng puso ang inilalabas niyang pag-arte ngayon kaya very different Jean Garcia ang mapapanood ninyo sa seryeng ito.”
“Nakarehas Na Puso” premieres on Monday, September 26, 4:15 p.m. on GMA.
