WHAT the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic failed to stop, the massive flooding in Cagayan did.

This as the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has announced the cancellation of the second part of the November 2020 Physician Licensure Examination (PLE) in Tuguegarao City set yesterday (Sunday) and today (Monday).

“Due to access and connectivity difficulties caused by Typhoon Ulysses, the November 15 and 16, 2020 PLE is cancelled in Tuguegarao City,” said the PRC.

It advised affected individuals to wait for subsequent announcements regarding the new schedule.

“Concerned examinees are advised to check the PRC website and official social media accounts for further announcements,” said the PRC.

Over the weekend, Cagayan was hit by massive flooding described as the worst in 40 years.

The PRC said, though, that the PLE will push through in other testing centers, such as Baguio City, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Manila, Pampanga, Tacloban, and Zamboanga.

“PLE shall proceed as scheduled for the rest of the testing venues nationwide,” said the PRC.

The first part of the November 2020 PLE was held last November 10 and 11.

The PRC has said that the PLE is being conducted due to the urgent need for physicians amid the public health emergency.
