FDA warns public against `Paw’ shampoo

THE Food and Drug Administration (FDA) yesterday warned the public against buying or using “Paw Patrol Shampoo Pawsome Punch Scented” which it said has “no valid certificate of product notification” from the agency.

The FDA said the shampoo, being an “unnotified” cosmetic product, means it has not gone through the notification process of the agency, and may have potential adverse health effects.

“The agency cannot assure their quality and safety. The use of such violative product may pose health risks to consumers,” said the FDA.

It said potential hazards may come from contamination of heavy metals or from ingredients that are not allowed to be part of a cosmetic product.

“The use of substandard and possibly adulterated cosmetic products may result to adverse reactions, including skin irritation, itchiness, anaphylactic shock, and organ failure,” it also said. — Gerard Naval
