A DISMISSED Pasig City policeman was arrested by operatives of the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) in Malabon City on Tuesday night for using illegal drugs.

IMEG Director Brig. Gen. Thomas Frias identified the ex-cops as former Cpl. Regie Alilano, previously assigned with the Sub-Station 6 of the Pasig City police station.

Alilano tested positive for shabu in January last year and was re-assigned to the National Capital Region’s Personnel Holding and Accounting Section pending an investigation.

IMEG spokeswoman Maj. Ann Mae Cunanan said Alilano was dismissed from the service last May 2.

Frias said Alilano was nabbed by IMEG operatives around 7:50 p.m. on McArthur Highway corner Potrero St. in Malabon by virtue of an arrest warrant for use of illegal drugs.

The warrant, issued by Pasig City judge Fritze Cruz-Rojo, was served by IMEG operatives in coordination with the PNP Criminal Investigation Group, NCRPO, PNP Intelligence Group, and Eastern Police District.

Frias said the arrest of Alilano was in line with the PNP leadership’s effort to rid the police force of rogue policemen.
