PNP chief Guillermo Eleazar yesterday ordered dismissal proceedings against a PNP civilian employee linked with the terrorist group Abu Sayyaf, who was arrested last Friday in Sulu.

Eleazar directed the PNP Internal Affairs Service (IAS) to fast-track the dismissal of Masckur Adoh Patarasa, alias Makong and OmairSali Taib, to cleanse the PNP ranks of rogue personnel.

Patarasa, assigned with the Banguingui police station in Sulu, was nabbed in Barangay Asturias in Jolo by police operatives armed with an arrest warrant for kidnapping and serious illegal detention.

Patarasa is said to be a brother-in-law of Abu Sayyaf leader and Islamic State of Iraq and Syria emir Isnilon Hapilon, who died during the siege of Marawi City in 2017.

Patarasa is a finance and logistics officer of the Abu Sayyaf Sayyaf and was among those included in the Martial Law Arrest Order No. 1 for involvement in the Marawi City siege.
