ANTI-NARCOTICS operatives seized eight parcels of ecstacy tables worth P23 million and liquid marijuana at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City on Wednesday afternoon.
The parcels were found abandoned by the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group during a profiling and K-9 sweeping operation at the Central Mail Exchange Center at around 3 p.m.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency yesterday said the parcels were subjected to physical examination by Bureau of Customs personnel and were found to contain dangerous drugs.
The first parcel, declared as energy saving lights shipped by one Rob Abian of Belgium, was consigned to Romeo Timon of Angeles City. It contained 4,328 pieces of ecstacy worth P7.35 million.
The second, declared as “cosmetic beauty items” shipped by TAN 4464 of California and consigned to Reynaldo Tomarong of Negros Oriental, contained 10 pieces of vape cartridges with marijuana oil.
The third and fourth parcels, declared as coffee, were shipped by Michael Kraats of Netherlands and consigned to Monica Sanchez of Manila. One of the parcels contained 2,027 ecstacy worth P3.44 million while the other contained 2,005 ecstacy worth P3.40 million
The fifth parcel, also declared as coffee, was shipped by Ad Van Der Kaaji of Netherlands and consigned to Therese Dela Cruz of Las Pinas City. It contained 1,521 ecstacy worth PP2.58 million.
The sixth parcel, also declared as coffee, was shipped by Ad Van Der Kaaji of Netherlands and consigned to Jeremy Alvaro of Las Pinas City. The parcel contained 1,647 ecstacy worth P2.79 million.
The seventh parcel, declared as “Granulaat,” was shipped by Walereus of Netherlands and consigned to Ding Dailo of Laguna. It was found to be containing 488 ecstacy worth about P829,600.
The last parcel was declared as “Granulaat PMR” and was also consigned to Dailo and shipped by Markeus/ Marlens of Netherlands. It contained 1,808 ecstacy worth P3.07 million
