PRESIDENT Duterte on Sunday night thanked Filipinos for making him president and vowed to continue to help them even after his term ends in June.

The President, during the “1 for Alan, One for Bayanihan” thanksgiving rally in Taguig City, said if he could not personally help the people, he is hoping to do it through his children who are running for public office, or even his former aide turned lawmaker, Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go.

Three of the President’s children are running for public office namely Sara Duterte-Carpio for vice president, Sebastian Duterte for mayor of Davao city, and Rep. Paolo Duterte.

Duterte also invited the people to visit him in Davao City where he intends to stay after his term.

He thanked his former running mate and now senatorial aspirant Alan Peter Cayetano and his wife Rep. Lani Cayetano.

The President said that when he ran in 2016, he did not promise much but he tried to keep his promises, like ending illegal drugs and criminality, and ensuring access to education and to health care.

Duterte said he tried to solve the drug problem in the country but it persists. He said even after his term, he remains committed to his anti-illegal drugs campaign.

The President, prior to the event, shared almost the same sentiments at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Pampanga Provincial Hospital in Clark in Pampanga.

Duterte said as his term comes to an end, he might have the chance to express his gratitude to everyone who helped him win the presidential elections and those who have continuously been supportive of him.

“Now that I am already at the tail-end of my administration, I thank everyone who has helped me realize the dreams we have for our country,” he said.

The President said he opted to share part of the Labor Day celebration by attending the event in Taguig City as he was told there were many beautiful women and handsome men there.

Duterte focused on a woman in sleeveless blouse and pants, with whom he promised to have their picture taken. He teased her by whistling at her and even called her on stage and asked whether she is single, separated or separated with a boyfriend. He joked he was not looking at the woman’s chest, to which the woman laughed and answered “they are original.”

Duterte has been criticized for making sexual innuendos and teasing women, and statements which he would later claim as jokes.
