PRESIDENT Duterte last night maintained he will not endorse any candidate for president and will remain neutral.
The President, at the regional assembly of the National Task Force and Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-RTF-ELCAC) in Lapu-Lapu City, said there many candidates are seeking his endorsement.
“Let me reiterate… I am not supporting any presidential candidate. Neutral ako (I am neutral). So, this is not a campaign, because I am not campaigning for a particular candidate… hindi pulitika (this is not politics),” he said.
After the event, the President was scheduled to attend a grand rally of the PDP-Laban party also in Lapu-Lapu City to endorse the senatorial bid of the “Magic seven” senatorial candidate of the ruling party. Duterte is the chairman of PDP-Laban which now has two factions.
The PDP-Laban faction led by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi said it is preparing at least 24 grand rallies nationwide that Duterte could attend.
