PRESIDENT Duterte yesterday extended his condolences to the government and people of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the death of its president, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The President’s message was personally conveyed to the UAE’s new president and Sheikh Khalifa’s brother, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, by presidential special envoy Robert Borje.

“The President conveys the Filipino nation’s solidarity with the UAE in this period of great loss and bereavement… The President said His Highness Sheikh Khalifa will long be remembered even beyond the UAE for his legacy of leadership, wisdom and benevolence,” said a statement released by Malacañang yesterday.
