A QUEZON City policeman is now facing criminal and administrative charges after pulling his gun and threatening to shoot people during a quarrel with his girlfriend last week.

Quezon City Police District Director Brig. Gen. Remus Medina said charges of grave threat and alarm and scandal have been filed against the erring cop, Corporal Wesley Hernandez, 31.

Hernandez, assigned with the QCPD’s Station 14 in Holy Spirit, is also facing charges for violation of Republic Act 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards and Commission on Elections Resolution No. 10728 for illegal possession of a firearm.

Hernandez has been placed under the restrictive custody of the QCPD, pending the resolution of the administrative charges against him.

Police said Hernandez, who was reportedly drunk, and his girlfriend, Jennelyn Mojica, had a quarrel in front of Mojica’s residence in Barangay Pasong Tamo, Quezon City last April 29.

Mojica’s brother-in-law, Shaun Anthony Dolor, tried to pacify the two. Instead of calming down, Hernandez drew his firearm and threatened to shoot Dolor and Mojica.

The victims went inside their house and locked the gate even as the policemen continued to make threats. They reported the incident to the police after Hernandez left.

“I already ordered the relief of the policemen involved in the incident and the immediate conduct of investigation. We will never tolerate any QCPD member who violated the law and we will do our best to hold them accountable for their mistake,” said Medina.

National Capital Region Police Office Director Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad said the police force “has no room for police officers like this,” referring to Hernandez.

“May this serve as stern warning to all NCRPO personnel that I will not tolerate rogues in our ranks,” added Natividad.
