THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) yesterday warned the public against bogus companies duping job seekers via social media.
The warning comes after the agency received a complaint against a company named “Eternal Investment” which DOLE said is “gathering people on Facebook and assigning them to job positions on a voluntary or commission basis.”
The complainant said “recruits” are assigned to positions such as executives, managers, and graphic artists.
“It is reportedly manipulating people and not paying proper dues based on the output of the volunteers,” said DOLE.
DOLE said “Eternal Investment” is not in the list of registered businesses of the Department of Trade and Industry and is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
DOLE cautioned the public against companies hiring recruits and promising cash or prizes in exchange for likes and shares.
“Verify the registration of such companies with appropriate government agencies before engaging with them, especially in providing information,” DOLE said.
