ALMOST 60,000 employment opportunities are set to be made available for jobseekers when the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) holds simultaneous nationwide job fairs as part of the 121st Labor Day celebration.
In a public announcement, the DOLE said tens of thousands of jobs will be offered in 36 job fair venues in celebration of Labor Day from April 30 to May 1.
“A total of 678 employers will be offering 59,354 job vacancies,” said DOLE.
Among the top industries participating are business process outsourcing, manufacturing, financial and insurance activities, manpower services, and sales and marketing.
The top vacancies are for customer service representatives, production workers/operators, financial consultants, service crew, and sales agents or sales clerks.
In the National Capital Region (NCR) alone, over 8,000 vacancies will be up for grabs during the Labor Day job fairs.
DOLE-NCR is set to hold the job fairs at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City on April 30, Sunday.
Come May 1, Metro Manila job fairs will be held in SM Grand Central (Caloocan City), SM BF Parañaque (Parañaque City), SM City Sucat (Parañaque City), SM Southmall (Las Piñas), Robinsons Place Las Piñas, Vista Mall Taguig, SM City Marikina (Marikina City), San Andres Gym (City of Manila), and QC Quadrangle (Quezon City).
At the Cordillera Administrative Region, it will be held at SM City Baguio and Baguio Convention Center.
In Ilocos Region, there will be job fairs at the Provincial Farmers Livelihood Development Center, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur; PESO Multipurpose Hall, Lingayen, Pangasinan; Orbos Gym, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan; and Magic Mall, Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.
There will also be job fairs in the Cagayan Valley, particularly in SM City Tuguegarao; Robinsons Place Santiago; and Municipal Covered Court, Reina Mercedes, Isabela.
In Central Luzon, job fairs will be held in SM City Marilao, Bulacan; SM City Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija; SM City Pampanga, San Fernando City, Pampanga; SM City Olongapo Central, Olongapo City; and SM CIty San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
The job fair in Calabarzon will be held at the Ynares Center, Rizal Provincial Capitol Grounds.
The City Mall in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro will be the job fair site in Mimaropa.
In the Bicol Region, the job fair will take place in Ayala Malls Legazpi, Albay.
At the Western Visayas, there will be a job fair held in Robinsons Iloilo.
For Central Visayas, job fairs are set in Robinsons Galleria Cebu; and Lamberto Macias Sports Complex, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
As for Eastern Visayas, DOLE said the job fair will be at the Tacloban Convention Center
