BY November 30, all labor inspection activities in the country shall be temporarily suspended, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
In its Labor Advisory No. 11 – 2024, DOLE said general labor inspection activities shall be put on hold across the country.
“All inspection activities are hereby suspended effective 30 November 2024,” said DOLE.
It said the suspension is part of the agency’s preparation for the labor inspection program for 2025.
“(This is) in the interest of the service and in connection with the preparation of the Labor Inspection Program Plan for CY 2025, and completion of other related activities,” said DOLE.
The Department said exempt from the suspension of labor inspection activities are inspections arising from complaints; Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) investigations; and technical safety inspections.
Also exempted by DOLE are technical and advisory visits; monitoring of construction projects; and any other inspection activities as directed by the secretary of the Department.
“Labor inspectors duly authorized under the General Authority and issued specific Authority to Inspect may still conduct these enforcement activities,” said DOLE.
