THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) yesterday warned the public against unscrupulous individuals offering bogus job offers to Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands.
In a social media post, the DMW said the public should be vigilant against individuals claiming to have direct access to Saipan-based companies looking for qualified applicants.
“We are reminding the public to be careful against a modus of offering fake jobs to Saipan by individuals claiming to be connected to legitimate companies there,” said DMW.
“Included in the modus of these individuals is the direct hiring for hotels in Saipan,” it added.
The Department said illegal recruitment is being done through online transactions.
The DMW said the victims are being asked to send documents containing sensitive personal information supposedly for their inclusion in the list via email.
In turn, the applicants shall be asked by the scammers to send an amount via money transfer.
