THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) yesterday warned overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) against submitting fake documentary requirements as well as engaging the services of “fixers” in processing their OFW Passes.

In a social media post, the DMW said those processing their OFW Passes must not accept offers of assistance from fixers and give payment in the process.
“The OFW Pass is free. No fee is necessary to get them,” it stressed, adding: “Avoid fixers offering to help secure your OFW Pass. That is prohibited.”
Similarly, it warned workers they maybe blacklisted in the system if they submit fake documents.

“Our system can detect fake documents submitted to us. Your registration may be canceled and your account could be blocked,” the DMW said.

The DMW last month held the ceremonial launch of the OFW Pass in 10 pilot testing sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, Oman, Japan, Taiwan, and United Kingdom (UK).
The OFW Pass is set to fully replace the traditional Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC), which has been used by OFWs since 1992, after the transition period. — Gerard Naval
