THE Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is warning illegal recruitment agencies it will continue to conduct closure operations.

“To the illegal recruiters, this is a warning to all of you from the DMW: Wherever you are in the Philippines, we will hunt you down,” said Migrant Workers Undersecretary Bernard Olalia.

“Whether you are in Mindanao, Visayas, or Luzon, we will find you, file charges against you, and padlock your business so that we can give justice to your victims,” he added.

Olalia said shutting down illegal recruiters is one of the primary directives of Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac.

“We are continuously conducting surveillance activities, both online and physical, on those recruiting OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) without any authority or permit from the DMW,” he said.

The DMW issued the warning after shutting down the Institute of Building Foreign Language Inc. (IBFL), a Japanese language training center in Baguio City that is illegally deploying Filipino workers to Japan. The center had no license to engage in the recruitment and placement of Filipinos for overseas work.
