EDUCATION Secretary Leonor Briones yesterday said public schools in the National Capital Region are now 87 percent prepared for the opening of classes on October 5 amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
During a press briefing, Briones said 14 out of 16 NCR school division offices have conducted simulations, from the delivery of modules to the conduct of distance learning.
She added they are set to distribute learning packages on September 1 to 15 with their mode of distribution according to quarantine scenarios, from enhanced community quarantine, modified enhanced community quarantine, and general community quarantine.
According to DepEd’s national enrollment data, NCR now has a total of 2,490,259 students enrolled in public and private schools, including state universities and colleges.
Nationwide national enrollment data on August 31 showed there were 23,910,974 students enrolled in public and private school, including SUCs. — Noel Talacay
