THE Education Department yesterday launched the “ErrorWatch Initiative” in response to numerous reports of errors in distance learning materials being used by public school students that has made the Department the laughing stock of netizens.
“This initiative was created in response to numerous reports about errors found in learning materials allegedly released by the agency,” DepEd Undersecretary For Administration Alain Pascua said.
Pascua said instead of posting the errors on social media, netizens and the public should instead inform the DepEd and help the agency resolve the problems.
“The goal of this initiative is to receive and collate reports of errors found in different learning materials and to forward these to the appropriate offices for validation and correction,” he said.
“All are advised to use the hashtag #depederrorwatch when submitting reports” Pasua added. “Dissemination of these details is desired to enable an efficient and proactive system of improving the Department’s learning materials across all modalities.”
The DepEd’s learning materials are printed and digitalized self-learning modules, some of them being aired on DepEd TV and Radio, DepEd Commons, and DepEd TV YouTube channel and facebook page.
