Demand high for domestic helpers

OVER 1,700 domestic helpers are currently in demand, topping the list of job vacancies in Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs), according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Based on the August 20 to 26 data released by the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE), there are currently 1,711 job vacancies for domestic helpers.

Other leading job vacancies include utility workers (461), recruitment officers (352), call center agents (310), and customer service assistants (301).

Completing the Top 10 are pipe fitters (300), general carpenters (300), general masons (202), scaffolders (201), and dairy farmers (123).

PESO data also showed high demand for production workers (120), nursing aides (109), construction laborers (101), millwrights (100), and mechanical foremen (100).

BLE also said there are vacancies for building painters (100), steelmen (100), administration service aides (100), general leadmen (100), and facilitators (96).
