THE Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released P11.6 billion for the 2021 performance-based bonus of 920,073 personnel in public elementary and secondary schools.
In a news release, the DBM said the Special Allotment Release Orders (SAROs) and Notice of Cash Allocations (NCAs) for personnel in various schools under the Department of Education (DepEd) for 2021 were released to all 16 Regional Offices (ROs) last September 1.
The grant of the bonus was based on the DepEd’s accomplishments for 2021 and the review of the performance of each personnel, along with the submission of necessary documentation requirements from April to August 2023.
“The DBM stands with our nation’s educators and recognizes their extraordinary work. We are one with our teachers in the pursuit of the immediate release of their PBB,” Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman said.
The DBM is still reviewing the documentary requirements of non-teaching personnel under the Schools Division Offices in regions III (Central Luzon), IV-A (Calabarzon), VIII (Eastern Visayas), XI (Davao), XII (Soccsksargen), XIII (Caraga), National Capital Region (NCR) and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) for 2021.
The requirements were returned by the DBM to DepEd for revalidation or revision.
The revalidation was due to various concerns such as duplicate entries, incorrect information on the months of service, and personnel that were not found in the DepEd’s Personnel Services Itemization and Plantilla of Personnel, among others.
The department assured those affected that once the revalidation is completed and their PBB is approved, the corresponding SARO and NCA will be processed and forwarded to the regional offices for the release of the bonus.
The final evaluation assessment for the DepEd was released by the Administrative Order No. 25 Inter-Agency Task Force in January 2023 while the necessary documents for the purpose were submitted by the DepEd to the DBM from April to August 2023. — With Angela Celis
