For his 20th birthday last month, Darren Espanto gave his more than 3.3 million followers on Instagram a surprise.
Proving that he is no longer the 13-year-old who was the first runner-up in The Voice Kids Philippines in 2014, Darren showcased his new look in several photos that proved he is all grown up — and how!
In a white sando and pants, Darren sent his fans into a frenzy. The clean-cut and buffed look earned a lot of praises from those who have followed him since he burst into the scene seven years ago. Netizens approved of his total transformation and were clearly asking for more. Well, there is good news because the singer-actor has been tapped to host his own online show, TNT Pop Show, which features young Pinoys who might have had the same dream as the young Daren several years ago.
It’s a fitting role for Darren, who entered his first singing contest at age 10 in Canada.
“I am happy and excited to be hosting the “TNT POP Show,” he said, “Gaya din ng ilan, I pursued my dream to become a performer by joining different talent contests. I believe that more kabataang Pinoy like me have what it takes to thrive in show business by sharing their talent and uplifting story.”
“TNT POP Show” has several segments, including “Pop Idol” which features an aspiring influencer and how they use their influence to spread saya to others, “Pop Trip” which features activities and games with Popstars of the week, plus a host of fun content.
It airs digitally on the TNT microsite, TNT Facebook account, and TNT YouTube channel. It aired its pilot last June 9, 5 p.m. The next episodes will be every Saturday at 5 p.m.
