Police continue to investigate the death of Dacera after government prosecutors released three suspects earlier detained and charged for her death.

An initial autopsy report said Dacera died of ruptured aortic aneurysm.

On the afternoon of January 1, Dacera was found unconscious in the bathtub of her hotel room. Hotel personnel tried to revive her but failed. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Lt. Col. Jenny Tecson, spokeswoman of the National Capital Region Police Office, said the Special Investigation Group continues to look into the Dacera case.

Asked if the rape angle is still be pursued by police investigators, Tecson said they cannot make the conclusion yet until the investigation is completed.

Tecson also welcome the entry of the NBI in the investigation, saying “we are doing everything to solve the case and give justice to the victim.”
