NINE areas in the country are seeing rising positivity rates for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), even as the National Capital Region (NCR) and three other provinces are seeing the opposite.
In a social media post, the independent OCTA Research yesterday reported the climbing positivity rates in Tarlac (32.8% from 23.5%), Rizal (26.1% from 25.6%), Cavite (24% from 20.5%), Pampanga (19.5% from 14.8), Davao del Sur (13.4% from 8.3%), Benguet (9.3% 7 from 7.3%), Iloilo (8.7% from 4.6%), Cebu (5.7% from 4.3%), and Negros Occidental (5.5% from 4.9%).
On the other hand, the positivity rates in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna and Batangas are going down.
These are NCR (18.1% from 19.1%), Bulacan (17.7% 20.4%), Laguna (16.9% from 19.7%), and Batangas (10.9% from 13.9%).
The Department of Health (DOH) last week said it is projecting that about 4,000 cases of COVID-19 could be reported daily by the end of October.
“If the compliance rate to the minimum public health standards decreases further, we may see higher numbers come the end of the month,” Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire earlier said.
