NINE out of 10 Filipinos believe that the worst of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic is over, a survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed.

The December 10 to 14 survey which involved 1,200 adult respondents nationwide and had a margin of error of ±2.8 percent, showed that 93 percent of the respondents felt that the worst is behind, which is hardly unchanged from the 91 percent in October 2022.

The polling firm also said 6 percent of the respondents think that the worst has yet to come, down from the 9 percent rating in October 2022.

As to the use of facemasks, the SWS said 91 percent (64 percent strongly approved, 27 percent somewhat approved) approved the voluntary wearing of face mask indoors or outdoors, while 4 percent are undecided and 4 percent disapproved or disagreed (1 percent strongly disapprove, 3 percent somewhat disapprove) with the government decision.

This resulted in a net approval rating of +87 (percent of approved minus percent of disapprove).

The SWS said 91 percent of the Filipinos also agreed that the wearing of face masks among students attending face-to-face classes should be voluntary (65 percent strongly agree, 26 percent somewhat agree), 3 percent are undecided, and 5 percent disapproved (2 percent strongly disagree, 3 percent somewhat disagree).

The net agreement rating was at +85 (percent of agree minus percent of disagree).
