THE average daily coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country continued to climb during the month of March, based on the latest report of the Department of Health (DOH).
The weekly COVID-19 case bulletin showed an average of 140 cases daily for the period of March 6 to 12, or 983 cases during the seven day-period.
“This is 8 percent higher than cases reported from February 27 to March 5,” said the DOH.
There was one additional severe and critical case during the past week and 58 deaths reported.
The DOH reported said there are currently 351 severe and critical cases in the country, as of March 12. Of the total, 265 are occupying ICU beds or 13.4 percent of the 1,982 critical beds nationwide.
On the other hand, there are 2,916 patients, or 17.1 percent, occupying the 17,075 total COVID-19 beds allocated nationwide. — Gerard Naval
