THE average number of daily coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the Philippines continue to climb and now nears the 200 mark, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
Based on the latest COVID-19 Case Bulletin, the DOH said there was an average of 176 cases daily from September 25 to October 1.
“This is 6 percent higher than cases reported from September 18 to 24,” said the DOH.
In its September 25 Case Bulletin, the DOH said the country had an average of 166 cases daily from September 18 to 24.
In total, 1,231 COVID-19 cases were reported in the last seven days but no death was reported.
There were 8 additional severe and critical cases in the past week.
The DOH also reported that there are currently 189 severe and critical cases in the country as of October 1.
Of the total severe and critical cases, the report showed that 147 of them are occupying ICU beds.
The number of occupied ICU beds accounts for 13 percent of the 1,133 total nationwide.
On the other hand, there are 1,464 COVID-19 patients occupying COVID-19 beds. This is 16.3 percent of the 9,008 total COVID-19 beds allocated nationwide.
