A POLICEMAN has been arrested by operatives of the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (IMEG) for abduction with rape in Taguig City, the PNP reported yesterday.
In a statement, PNP public affairs office chief Brig. Gen. Roderick Alba identified the cop as Patrolman Jerome Ubaldo Arroyo, assigned with the Manila Police District.
Arroyo was arrested last Tuesday by virtue of a warrant issued by Manila Judge Anne Beatrice Balmaceda for the crime of forcible abduction with rape.
“In a latest operation to a string of internal efforts against alleged rogues in uniform, the Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group successfully served a Warrant of Arrest to Patrolman Jerome Ubaldo Arroyo on August 16, 2022,” said Alba.
The arrest of Arroyo came a day after three fellow MPD policemen — Staff Sgt. Erwin Licuasen, Corporal Chimber Importa, and Patrolman Leopoldo Tuason — were arrested by IMEG operatives in Ermita, Manila for robbery-extortion.
