A POLICE staff sergeant has been arrested by his fellow policemen in an anti-narcotics operation in Iloilo City, PNP officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. reported yesterday.
The arrested cop was identified as S/Sgt. Igmedio Lasala Cristobal Jr., 40, assigned with the PNP Regional Personnel Holding Administration Unit-Western Visayas based in Iloilo City.
Danao said Cristobal was arrested last Sunday in Molo District, Iloilo City during a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforce Unit-Western Visayas and Iloilo City police station.
Seized from Cristobal were 17 sachets containing 55 grams of suspected shabu worth P374,000, the buy-bust money, a black wallet with identification cards, a cellphone, and a Yamaha motorcycle.
