OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested a construction worker who sold a kilo of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million to a poseur-buyer yesterday afternoon in Makati City.
PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon identified the suspect as Jonathan Garrucho, alias BJ Atan, 42, a resident of West Rembo, Makati City.
Carreon said PDEA men nabbed Garrucho as soon as he sold the shabu to a PDEA agent at around 4 p.m. on 12th Avenue in East Rembo, Makati City.
Police nabbed two suspected pushers and seized suspected shabu worth P228,140 in two buy-bust operations in Las Pinas and Pasay City.
Rogelio Laurita Rado, 29, was nabbed in front of a mall in Alabang-Zapote road in Las Pinas on Wednesday. Seized from him was suspected shabu with a street value of P54,400.
Another operation conducted early Thursday in Pasay City led to the arrest of John Christopher Legaspi Dagohoy, 20, a student. Recovered from him was a plastic sachet of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P173,740.
A jobless man was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Marikina City on Wednesday, with police seizing P34,000 worth of suspected shabu.
Col. Restituto Arcangel, local police chief, identified the suspect as Jay Jay de Vera, 34, of Barangay Tañong. Seized from him was suspected shabu weighing more or less five grams. — Noel Talacay and Christian Oineza
