A YOUTH organization has filed charges of corruption against a congressional candidate in Quezon City and other individuals linked with the controversial Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp.

The charges, filed by the Samahan ng Progresibong Kabataan (SPARK) before the Office of the Ombudsman, were lodged against Rose Nono Lin, the congressional aspirant in the fifth district who holds stocks in a company that has ties with Pharmally; businessman Michael Yang, and Department of Budget and Management-Procurement Service (PS-DBM) chief Christopher Lloyd Lao.

John Lazaro, speaking on behalf of SPARK, said the three should be held accountable for the alleged billions of pesos wasted on the Pharmally contract with the government to buy medical supplies for the coronavirus disease 2019 response.

The group said the Senate blue ribbon committee has already established an alleged conspiracy among the respondents and condemned them from continuing to be investigated by the Senate.

The group recommended that the case be elevated by the Ombudsman to the Sandiganbayan. – Rolly Salvador
