THE Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV) is urging Filipinos who expect to be based abroad come the May 2025 polls to register as voters as early as this month.
Comelec-OFOV Director Sonia Bea Wee-Lozada said Filipinos set to be based overseas come the midterm polls may register while they are still in the country.
“To our countrymen that are just due to leave, if they know that they’ll be abroad on Election Day in 2025, they can register ahead here,” Wee-Lozada said.
She said the OFOV office in Manila will resume overseas voter registration activities come December 9.
“The resumption of overseas voting registration will also happen here in Manila, specifically at the Office for Overseas Voting,” said Wee-Lozada.
Overseas voter registration will be held in all Philippine embassies and consulate generals worldwide until September 30, 2024.
Once registered as overseas voters, Pinoys abroad can cast their votes for the May 2025 polls from April 13, 2025 to May 12, 2025.
