Comelec okays 53 new party-list groups

FIFTY-THREE new party-list organizations have been approved by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to participate in the May 2022 elections.

The 53 will join the 118 groups that have been accredited by the Comelec in previous elections.

Earlier in the month, 270 party-list organizations filed their list of nominees for the May 2022 polls.

Under the Party-List System Law, any organized group of persons may register with the Comelec as a party, organization, or coalition for purposes of the party-list system.

In a document released by the Comelec, the new groups are Uswag Ilonggo Party, Pinatatag na Ugnayan Para sa mga Oportunidad sa Pabahay ng Masa, Ako Ilokano Ako, Passengers and Riders Organization Inc., Asenso Pinoy, Agimat ng Masa, Komunidad Ng Pamilya, Pasyente at Person With Disabilities Inc., Kapamilya ng Manggagawang Pilipino, Ang Bumbero Ng Pilipinas, Pdp Cares Foundation Inc., 1Tahanan Inc.

Ang Koalisyon ng Indigenous People, Mindoro Sandugo Para Sa Kaunlaran Inc., One Filipinos Worldwide, Turismo Isulong Mo, Maharlikang Pilipino Party, Samahan ng Manggagawa sa Industriya ng Live Events, Tagapagtaguyod ng mga Reporma at Adhikaing Babalikat at Hahango sa mga Oportunidad Para sa mga Pilipino, Tulungan Tayo, Filipino Rights Protection Advocates of Manila Movement., Kalipunan Ng Maralita at Malayang Mamamayan Inc., Samahang Ilaw at Bisig.
