THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has dismissed a petition to cancel the certificate of candidacy (COC) of broadcaster Raffy Tulfo, acting Comelec chair Socorro Inting said yesterday.
But a copy of the decision of the Comelec’s Second Division has yet to be made available.
To recall, one Julieta Licup Pearson filed a petition to cancel Tulfo’s COC for senator due to alleged material misrepresentation.
According to Pearson, she is the legal wife of Tulfo and not Jocelyn Pua Tulfo, whom the candidate declared as his spouse in his COC.
Tulfo has admitted having a child with Pearson.
It should be noted that Tulfo is considered as among the frontrunners in the May 9 senatorial race.
In the latest Pulse Asia survey, 66.1 percent of the respondents said they will vote for Tulfo for senator.
