SIX months before the May 2022 polls, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) has tapped its supplier for ballot boxes as well as its service provider for official ballots warehouse.
In a notice of award signed by Comelec Chairman Sheriff Abas, the Comelec gave Cofta Mouldings Corporation the contract for the supply and delivery of ballot boxes to be used in the May 2022 polls.
The Valenzuela City-based firm posted a bid of P2,950 per unit of the ballot boxes.
The contract for the supply and delivery of the 48,782 boxes will amount to P143,906,900.
The poll body also awarded the “provision of warehouse facility for ballot paper rolls and printed official ballots with hauling services” to Blue Chip Marketing, a Manila-based company that posted a bid amount of P37,888,888 for the entire 1 Lot project.
The printing of official ballots to be used in the May 2022 polls is set to be undertaken by the National Printing Office. — Gerard Naval
