Classes in Cagayan HS suspended due to COVID symptoms among studes

MAYOR Samuel Siddayao of Gattaran town in Cagayan has ordered the suspension of face-to-face classes at a high school in the area after 145 students and nine teachers of the school experienced COVID-19 symptoms.

Face-to-face classes at the Calaoagan Dackel National High School-Capissayan Annex were suspended starting last Monday up to December 16 under Executive Order 14 series of 2022 issued by Siddayao.

In the order, Siddayao said school officials reported last Sunday that 145 of students and nine teachers of the school were “suffering from COVID-like symptoms, which includes throat pains and fever.”

Siddayao said the Rural Health Unit and the Municipal Health Office “highly recommended” the suspension of face-to-face classes at the school and “shift to a blended (learning) for two weeks to promote the safety, security and health protection of learners, faculty and staff of the institution and the public as well.”
