Claire Castro is more comfortable being described as GMA’s breakout star than “Pantasya ng Bayan.”
“Mas gusto ko po ‘yun breakout star because ‘yung ‘Pantasya ng Bayan’ is more on my looks lang ‘yun, but kung breakout star, it’s on what I can do and entertain people.”
The Kapuso actress received a lot of raves for her effective portrayal of Cielo in GMA’s afternoon drama, “Nagbabagang Luha.” Claire’s Cielo goes from being sweet to scary-obsessive, and it’s a role that she relished.
“Mas masaya gawin ‘yung outrageous scenes kesa sweet kasi mas marami kang na-e-express dun,” she opined.
She revealed that the emotions she showed on screen during the afternoon drama were mined from her own experiences. The rage, she said, she sometimes keeps bottled up, and this is what she taps into when she has to show such anger or “topak.”
After “Pantasya ng Bayan,” the 22-year-old is ready to sink her teeth into even meatier roles.
“For me, mahirap ‘yung nakakaawang character because I had a conversation with a co-star and sabi nya mas mahirap nakakaawa,” she said.
“For me, mas gusto ko baliw baliwan, mas na e-express ko ‘yung hindi na-ex-express. Kasi I am normally quiet.”
